Shimen Reservoir, once the largest in East Asia, remains one of northern Taiwan's most important reservoirs, offering picturesque scenery year-round with its beautiful combination of water and mountain landscapes. Shimen Reservoir is connected to over ten tourist attractions, its park areas feature lush greenery and include bike trails and yacht tours around the lake, providing visitors a variety of recreational options. Popular scenic spots within the area include the dam, spillway, lake-view wharf, Hsihchou Park, Hackle Tree Park, Nan-yuan Eco-attraction, and more.
