Wenlin Pavilion is primarily dedicated to the Three Gracious Lords and the God of Literature, and it is a temple with a rich history. As a result, it has a large number of followers and is renowned for its incense and grandeur. Not only is it one of the most famous temples in the Qionglin area, but it was also an important school in the early days. Wenlin Pavilion was established by Deng Zhao-xiong, a scholar, during the Tongzhi period of the Qing dynasty. At that time, it served as a local school for cultivating talented individuals. During the Guangxu period, it was transformed into the "Wenlin Society", which became a place for scholars in the Touqianxi River basin to gather and appreciate literature. Later, the school was converted into a temple called "Wenlin Pavilion", also known as Wen Temple. In 1932, the temple underwent a renovation, replacing the original earthen wall structure with red bricks and glazed tiles. The current appearance of the temple was rebuilt around 1991. Every year on September 28th, which marks the birthday of Confucius, Wenlin Pavilion in Qionglin holds its most solemn ceremony. The temple management organizes grand celebrations, and devotees from all over come to worship, creating a bustling scene with abundant incense.
