The Erge Mountain hiking trail is located at the junction of A-Yang-Rou Industrial Road and Wenshan District, opposite the entrance to Houshan Yue. Erge Mountain and Houshan Yue are separated by only a thin ridge; its trailhead sits directly across from that of Houshan Yue. Also known as Stone-Peak Mountain, Erge rises to 678 m and, thanks to its sweeping views, is a favorite among hikers. The path consists of stone steps and natural dirt. At the summit stands a uniquely designed wooden pavilion; from here you can gaze out over Taipei’s skyline as well as distant Wuzhi and Qixing Mountains. A climb up Erge offers pristine forest bathing and the thrill of a challenging, shaded trail that eventually leads to Muzha.
