The Dajia Wharf is located on the left bank of the Keelung River at Yuanshan. In the past, Yuanshan was called Yuanzai Mountain and was the "dragon head" of the Dadingdong terrain. Due to the passage of the Keelung River, it was once a lake and marsh area where seawater flowed in and out. The excavated Yuanshan Site and shell mound prove the location where our ancestors lived. The nearby Jiantan area, which got its name from the legend that General Zheng Chenggong (also known as Koxinga) inserted his sword into a water spring, also testifies to its historical significance. During the Japanese rule, the Japanese built the Taiwan Shrine and the outer garden of the Shrine on the west side of the Zhonglie Temple near the present-day Grand Hotel, which demonstrates the importance of its geographical location.
The Dajia Wharf is situated on the south bank of the Keelung River, approximately 200 meters west of the Dazhi Bridge. This is the yacht wharf of the "Blue Water Route". Two routes are available from here: Dajia to Yuanshan and Dajia to Neihu Science and Technology Park (round trip).
