1F is planned with a reception hall, a self‑operated product display and sale area, a section showcasing the effects of corrective work, a history of corrections display, a remote visitation center for families of the Mid‑Central Correctional Institution, a world map, an interactive photo booth, and an administrative office area.
2F includes a flexible multimedia classroom that doubles as an assembly hall, simulated cells, multifunctional classrooms, meeting rooms, a VR experience area, and the 3D Painted Room (a key highlight of the building).
The Art and Culture Exhibition Area mainly displays traditional crafts or cultural‑creative works from various correctional institutions, such as lacquerware, Jiaozi pottery, bamboo weaving, and rag weaving, along with a variety of creative products. It allows the public to understand the contribution and continuous effort of correctional institutions in preserving traditional crafts and advancing innovation.
The simulated cell is the place where inmates sleep during their daily life. In addition to the cell door, essential facilities include a report light, an inmate name badge, a viewing hole, a meal delivery port, and a ventilation window. The cell door also features a viewing design and two sets of locks to provide better protection when correctional staff open the door.
The 3D Painted Room was specially commissioned and carefully painted by professional 3D painting designer Mr. Lin Zhimin for this building. The exterior and interior walls of the painted room display vivid 3D paintings that represent the current main mission and functions of the correctional institution: incarceration, sedimentation, transformation, and reintegration.
