Yunlin’s “Gukeng Green Tunnel Station” is the marketing showcase at the gateway to eastern Yunlin on Provincial Highway 3. It was built under the Tourism Bureau’s cross-field highlight project “Yun-You 3 Lin—Slow Food, Easy Travel, Leisure Living,” subsidizing Yunlin County to create an international-class sightseeing service landmark. In July 2017 the station was entrusted to private operation via an OT (Operate-Transfer) model; Nan Ren Lake Enterprise won the concession and broke ground that October. Guided by the Tourism Bureau, the county team, township offices and private businesses integrated resources for more than a year, and on 10 November 2018 the facility was inaugurated. Together with the cross-field highlight project’s international food-and-art festival, the “Gukeng Green Tunnel Station” grand opening was staged to bring Yunlin onto the world stage and let domestic and foreign visitors see the beauty of Yunlin.
