"Soft charcoal fire, roasting stories that have been passed down for centuries, creating an authentic and fashionable tea shop!"
Taipei's Dadaocheng is the starting point where Taiwanese tea became famous worldwide. There has been a renowned tea shop here for more than a hundred years. "Integrity" is the business philosophy that has been passed down through generations in the shop. Through carefully selected and roasted high-quality teas from various regions in Taiwan, it conveys deep feelings to customers. With unique flavors, genuine traditional concepts, and a sincere approach, it carefully caters to the refined tastes of tea lovers, allowing the fragrance of tea to be passed down for generations.
This century-old tea shop comes from a renowned tea-growing family in Anxi, Fujian. It is the most well-preserved tea production factory in Dadaocheng. Now, it is operated by the fifth generation and has been transformed into a small tea museum and tea art space that combines sales, education, and visits.
The shop is filled with nostalgic decorations: old tea crates used for seafaring, iron plates embedded in the tea crates, charcoal roasting rooms, and roasting furnaces, all preserved intact. It still maintains the traditional method of slow roasting with charcoal, becoming the "Bailongjian" (roasting room) that is still fully operational in Taipei. More than 40 roasting baskets are lined up on the roasting shelves, known as the "Yuanpei Tea Method." The tea shop's official website describes the characteristics of this roasting method: "Soft charcoal fire gently brings out the multi-layered natural fragrance of tea, sometimes with a honey-like aroma, sometimes with a orchid-like fragrance." The fragrance is fresh and elegant, each one a beautiful traditional Taiwanese tea flavor.
