Gangshan 228 Peace Memorial Park is the first park in Taiwan built to commemorate the February 28 Incident. The park contains a two-story White Dove Monument composed of five white doves, symbolizing a shared destiny among Taiwan's five ethnic groups and expressing the themes of justice and peace. The design of the park preserves the axial line of the main entrance, incorporating elements like an entrance plaza with musical bell imagery, an open multifunctional cultural space, and a historical cultural corridor represented by a landscape mound for the monument. Seasonal trees are planted along both sides of the main plaza, integrating the existing forested undergrowth and creating a circular walking path within and beyond the park. The forested walking area extends into distinctive play zones and physical fitness activity zones. By preserving the existing shaded canopy vegetation, the park is reimagined as a recreational space with clear commemorative significance.
