Jilong Mountain is located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City, with an elevation of 588 meters, and is one of the small hundred peaks in Taiwan. Jilong Mountain is a conical dormant volcano, belonging to the Keelung Volcanic Group, and is a mountain with an intrusive volcanic landform. The mountain's majestic and independent appearance, combined with its location near the East Sea, made it an important landmark for sailors to navigate in the past, and it is also the boundary mountain between Jiufen and Jinguashi. The shape of Jilong Mountain changes with the angle of view, and its beauty is different from different perspectives. From the sea, the mountain looks like a chicken cage, so it was formerly known as "Jilong Mountain". From the side, it looks like a pregnant woman lying down, so it is also known as "Dadun Meiren Mountain". From the Ruigang Highway, it looks like Mount Fuji, so it is also known as "Keelung Fuji Mountain". Overlooking the night view of the mountain city, Jilong Mountain is near Jiufen Old Street and is a popular place for hiking. The Jilong Mountain hiking trail is a stepped path all the way to the top, with two rest pavilions set up in the middle section of the trail for hikers to rest. From the top of the mountain, you can see the scenery of Jiufen, Jinguashi, and the North Coast without any blind spots. If you climb the mountain at dusk, you can also enjoy the scenery of Jiufen and Jinguashi transforming into a golden mountain city with millions of lights.
