The Pizitou Botanical Garden, which serves four main purposes: leisure, recreation, education, and research, is located near the cultural center. It was established in 1908 (Meiji 41). At that time, it was used as a production and testing site for rubber seedlings, along with the Shanzi Ding Botanical Garden. Pizitou is situated in a flat area, which is different from the hilly terrain of Shanzi Ding. The two locations conducted forestry experiments simultaneously, exploring different aspects. Over time, they shifted their focus to tropical and subtropical afforestation experiments. As the times changed, the garden evolved into a place for cultivating afforestation tree species and greening seedlings. The botanical garden is currently divided into several plant areas, including shrubs, vines, fragrant flowers, bamboos, and lawns. Additionally, there is an urban multi-layered forest landscape area, providing a space for the public and scholars to engage in leisure, recreation, education, and research activities.
