高雄市新興區802苓雅區五福一路與光華一路交叉路口
Walking along the intersection of Wufu Road and Guanghua Road in Lingya District, a giant 38‑meter‑tall colorful sphere catches the eye of passersby and brings delight. The area, spanning one hectare at the Tailei Water Park, originally housed a large water‑storage tower and water‑distribution pipelines built in 1960, which had long been abandoned and decommissioned. Because of its historical value, the municipal government preserved the pipelines and painted the 3,800‑tonne water tower in a rainbow of colors. At night, lighting enhances the scene, turning it into a beautiful landmark of Kaohsiung’s urban landscape. The park features seven landscape art pieces, and the ground is laid out with curved surfaces that, together with fiber‑optic light strips and glass mosaics, display the map of Kaohsiung and a variety of vibrant patterns. The green, lively park feels like a candy house during the day, and its dazzling nighttime lighting showcases a different, elegant mood, giving the once‑stiff industrial site a gentle, artistic new style.
