The "Hsieh Wan-chang Memorial Museum" was expanded from the "Dr. Hsieh Wan-chang Collection Room," established in 2006. It houses 2,549 pieces of artifacts collected during Dr. Hsieh's 50-year public service career until his vice presidency, including medals, artworks, calligraphy, paintings, and important documents, which were donated to Chaoyang University of Technology. The collection is used for academic education and research, and the museum also serves as an art and cultural space. Located on the 5th floor of the library building at Chaoyang University of Technology, the 116.5 ping (approx. 385 square meters) museum is divided into three areas: The "Entrance Hall—Sundial" showcases a sundial reflecting Dr. Hsieh's personal life chronology and displays the Chung Cheng Order of Merit awarded during his vice presidency. The "Artworks and Digital Resource Display Room," featuring design elements such as a sundial motif, aerial view of Chiayi City, and the city's flower, represents Dr. Hsieh's administrative achievements through a multimedia format. The space includes a large touch-screen computer and a multi-media viewing room for an interactive experience of digitized museum resources. The "Special Collection Room" displays Dr. Hsieh's press releases, lecture manuscripts, press clippings, and records of important meetings, accompanied by decorations for various honorary degrees, significant calligraphy and paintings, and exclusive artistic collections.
