Introduction
The Dahu Lake Leisure Agricultural Zone was established in June 2008, the 13th leisure agricultural zone in Yilan County, with an area of 527 hectares, covering the Hou Dong Village, Hou Xi Village, Yi Xian Village, and Hou Bei Village in Yuanshan Township.
In 1815, the pioneers who developed this area encountered water problems due to the flooding of the XiShi Daxi River. The highlands were short of water, while the low-lying areas were flooded. The pioneers solved the problem by building embankments and digging canals for irrigation. At that time, the pioneers relied on water transportation for external travel and the transportation of agricultural products and wood. Therefore, there are many water canals in the area, and the good water quality makes the agricultural products of high quality.
The agricultural zone is completely free of industrial pollution, with a scenic landscape of mountains and fields, making it a popular destination for tourists. The area is suitable for developing leisure industries that combine agricultural production and rural culture, providing a space for national leisure and allowing people to experience agricultural and rural life.
The Dahu Lake Leisure Agricultural Zone has rich leisure resources, including characteristic restaurants, scenic areas, and rare springs. The area is also home to the famous DongHu Scallion production area, the ErHu Pineapple Cultural Museum, the Boli Fishpond, the Dahu Scenic Area, the ShuangLian Pit, the HongFeng Vegetable Planting Area, the Bizi Head Recreation Area, and the GongZi Lake Leisure Trail.
Recently, due to the development of leisure agriculture, many bed-and-breakfast inns have been established in the Dahu Lake Leisure Agricultural Zone, providing comfortable and safe accommodations for tourists.
Surrounding the Dahu Lake area are the four villages of Hou Dong, Hou Xi, Hou Bei, and Yi Xian, known as the "Dahu Lake" area, a famous scenic spot and leisure agricultural zone in the county. The Taidong line 9A runs through the middle, with the Dahu Scenic Area and the Tianyao Park on the left, and the ErHu Pineapple Observation Orchard and the Tian Niu Leisure Farm on the right.
