The Dapingding Tropical Botanical Garden is the nation's first urban tropical botanical garden constructed with conservation, research, education, and recreation in mind. Often referred to as the "lung" of the region, it provides a rich and diverse plant and ecological environment. With an excellent geographical location and climate conditions, it nurtures an abundant species ecosystem. The platform, steep slopes, and cliffs in the site offer a variety of habitats for biodiversity. As a global concern for environmental education and ecological tourism, it serves as an academic research and natural conservation resource and has been awarded the 2010 National Excellence in Construction Award, Gold Quality Award in the Excellent Environmental Culture Category, and is known as the "Green Pearl." The garden is mainly divided into the Tropical Style Area, Fruit Tree Area, Prairie Area, Rainforest Area, Coastal Plants Area, Aquatic Plants Area, Screen House Plants Area, and an Education and Interpretation Center. In addition, the garden has specially planned four walking trails of varying distances and difficulty levels to suit different physical conditions, ranging from the Relaxing Happy Life Trail to the Challenging Hero's Trail.
