The Lion Tams' Cultural Center used to be the old site of the Lion Tams' Township Hall. After the Township Hall moved out, it became an idle space. In 2003, the government promoted the plans of "Reuse of Idle Spaces" and "Local Cultural Center Project". In response to these two plans, the Township Hall applied to transform the old building into a cultural center, so that local people could have a place for art and cultural activities.
The cultural center is conveniently located in the center of Shin-Dien village, with easy and quick access to roads in all directions. It is very accessible and therefore quite convenient for residents who want to enjoy art and cultural activities. This also increased the usage rate of the cultural center, making it an important building on the old Shin-Dien street.
The renovated cultural center covers an area of 500 square meters and consists of three floors. The first floor has a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym. The second floor has a meeting room, a lounge, and an old photo exhibit. The third floor has a briefing room and an exercise room. It is a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness during their free time.
In addition, the cultural center will also periodically cooperate with professionals to offer courses such as bamboo carving, grass weaving, and papermaking, allowing the public to have the opportunity to learn about these ancient techniques.
