Yunlin’s gateway, Douliu Station, was founded in 1904 as a wooden structure. It collapsed in the 1941 Chūpu earthquake and was rebuilt by March 1942. The third-generation reinforced-concrete station was erected in 1958, and the current elevated station opened in 2008. Douliu Station sits in the seat of the Yunlin County Government and is the only stop on the round-island rail line that passes through a county seat yet bears the county’s name “Yunlin.”
