There is a beige building at the intersection of Zhongshan South Road and Xuzhou Road. Although its exterior is simple, its interior is full of variety, with all kinds of exquisite handicrafts. This is the Chinese Handicraft Museum, operated by the Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center, a semi-official exhibition venue for handicrafts and local specialty products, which currently has the largest display area and the longest history in the country.
The Taiwan Handicraft Promotion Center maintains cooperative relationships with various small and medium-sized traditional handicraft industries in Taiwan, aiming to assist and promote the popularity of handicrafts and expand the consumer market. The center has more than 40,000 types of handicrafts for sale, which are very diverse. The handicraft categories include ceramics, tea wares, glass, jewelry, stone art, wood carvings, bamboo products, leather carvings, dyeing and weaving, embroidery, cloisonné ornaments, indigenous handicrafts, Tonghua Festival products, local specialties, and tourist souvenirs. Everything you can imagine is available here, and the collection is so rich that it can be compared to the "Palace Museum," earning it the nickname "Little Palace Museum." However, unlike the Palace Museum, you can touch, feel, and experience the artistic beauty of the handicrafts. If you like, you can even buy them to take home as decorations.
The space of the handicraft museum is very spacious, and the feeling inside is quite comfortable. Due to the different exhibits, each area has its own unique atmosphere. Each floor also provides seats for rest, so that you can take a break when you get tired. This thoughtful service environment will make you forget the time, and you can stroll through the world of handicrafts.
