The Longshan Temple in Fengshan, with a history spanning over 300 years, ranks second in antiquity among the five Longshan Temples across Taiwan and is designated as a National Cultural Heritage Site. It enshrines the Bodhisattva Guanyin. The earliest plaque inside the temple, "Nanyun Dongzhao," dated to the 25th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, indicated that the temple was built in the early Qianlong period. Despite several restorations, it retains a rich and well-preserved traditional temple architectural appearance and craftsmanship, serving as an artistic sanctuary for traditional artisans. The temple's interior preserves numerous colorful decorations and intricately carved beams and pillars, among which the most famous is the colorful mural of coiling dragons and tigers on the wall of the central courtyard. This was created by the master artisan Yeh Chung of Tainan after World War II. In the past, residents of Fengshan often came to Longshan Temple to request the Bodhisattva Guanyin to officially accept their children and grandchildren as "godchildren" in hopes of receiving her compassionate blessings. They would bring offerings of incense bags and pray for peace cakes. Currently, the Longshan Temple in Fengshan offers specially made peace cakes, Harmonious Zongzi (stuffed rice dumplings), and Happy Cookies packaged in gift boxes, making it convenient for worshippers to enjoy them after making prayers, and these have been widely loved by visitors.
