Chick-fil-A is a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken sandwiches and other related products. Founded by S. Truett Cathy in 1946, the original store was opened as a diner called The Dwarf Grill.

S. Truett Cathy developed the original chicken sandwich product that would become Chick-fil-A's signature item, which he named the Original Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich features a pressure-cooked chicken patty served on a bun with two dill pickle chips and a slice of American cheese.

In 1967, S. Truett Cathy opened the first Chick-fil-A restaurant under its current name in the Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta, Georgia. Today, the company is headquartered in Atlanta, but its restaurants are operated by independent franchisees. The menu at Chick-fil-A has expanded to include a variety of chicken nuggets and strips, salads, wraps, and side items.
