This is a series of events called "Rural Happiness and Good Food" organized by the Hsinchu County Local Characteristic Industry Development Association - Yi He Yuan / Rice Field Dining, featuring local specialty ingredients from Hsinchu County, inviting everyone to come and taste. The Yi He Yuan Rural Feast welcomes guests with local ingredients. The location of Yi He Yuan, Zhu Dong Town's Ruan Bridge Village, is an important starting point for the history of water conservancy development in Hsinchu County and an ideal bicycle route. The entire Ruan Bridge area has approximately 12 hectares of agricultural land, with 85% used for rice cultivation, 10% for vegetables, and 5% for individual self-sufficiency. Most of the rice in the Ruan Bridge area is organically grown. The organic rice production and sales group has its own rice milling, drying, and packaging equipment and has won first place in the national organic rice category. When visiting Yi He Yuan, consider bringing home this limited-edition delightful taste. Chen Li-long creates an organic lifestyle in the farm. The operator of Yi He Yuan, Chen Li-long, is a son-in-law from the Ruan Bridge area. His tech background led him to deduce an "optimization" approach to farming. He adopted a "planned planting" method, where customers' orders are placed four months in advance, and payment is made in advance. This ensures that there is no overproduction. When delivering vegetables to subscribers each week, the farm has no more than five packages of leftover produce. Chen Li-long manages the farm with diversified and multi-angle operations. He has promoted urban people coming to the countryside for farming and has offered "organic vegetable planting and wellness" courses at community colleges. This course was selected as an excellent academic course in 99 years, attracting students from metropolitan areas to participate and experience rural life. He also launched a "food and agriculture education experience camp" for one or half a day. Groups of 20 or more can form a team, attracting many agricultural associations, kindergartens, elderly universities, and families with children. AIESEC international volunteers come to Taiwan for an experience. Three years ago, AIESEC (International Association of Students in Economic and Management Sciences) from National Chiao Tung University searched for a practical farm in Hsinchu County and city, allowing international volunteers to stay for 6 to 8 weeks and engage in hands-on organic farming. The AIESEC students from National Chiao Tung University first experienced short-term stays at the farm and found it feasible. In the summer of 2012, they began recruiting AIESEC international students to come to Taiwan for short-term stays. Every Monday to Friday, foreign students worked on farm at Yi He Yuan, and on weekends, they traveled with students from National Chiao Tung University around Taiwan. Watching the volunteers work in the fields, Chen Li-long said that during summer and winter breaks, many camp groups need to be received and arranged. After the summer and winter breaks, only he and his wife were left to farm. Even on regular days, as the agricultural ambassador of Hsinchu County, Chen Li-long remains busy with various visiting groups coming to discuss and exchange ideas on organic agriculture and with the Hsinchu County Production and Development Association promoting local agricultural exchanges. This tech-savvy farmer who established an exchange platform on the Shangping Stream in Zhu Dong has become an excellent representative for Hsinchu County's agricultural tourism.
