Ban-Shu Sports Center opened in 2001 at the junction of Banqiao and Shulin. Covering 1.72 hectares, the main building is divided into three major zones: first floor, second floor, and basement level one. Inside are badminton, tennis, and basketball courts, a table-tennis classroom, aerobics room, taekwondo room, martial-arts room, and more, plus a variety of specialized sports courses. Meeting rooms, locker rooms, and shower facilities are available for participants, providing a venue for public recreation and indoor sports competitions.
Ban-Shu houses New Taipei City’s first gym designed exclusively for people with disabilities, featuring wheelchair-compatible hydraulic equipment and several professional trainers. Accessible parking routes and shuttle buses are provided, and a hand-cycle rental station and hand-cycle track allow wheelchair users to exercise outdoors, putting the principle of sports equality into practice.
