Hidden within the mountainside, the reception center is located near the Qingshui Shengli Reservoir. Behind the yellow archway, the "Shengli Bunkers" are carved out of the mountain wall and constructed in December 1981. During the excavation phase, traditional explosive blasting and manual labor were employed, a process that was extremely arduous and hazardous, taking over a year. Upon completion in 1982, the Shengli Bunkers primarily served as secure lodging for high-ranking officials inspecting the defense area and featured a reception hall, exhibition hall, guest rooms, and a dining area. The temperature inside the cavernous shelter remains remarkably cool. To promote military-themed tourism, the Lianjiang County Government hosts annual "Military Experience" events. During these events, the military periodically allows visitors to enter for guided tours, offering a rare opportunity to witness the legendary, previously confidential "Presidential Suite." Note: Military sites are restricted to local residents only. Both group (tourist groups, companies, or government agencies) and individual (travelers, backpackers) visitors must present identification for verification and complete the application process with security personnel before entry.
