O-Li Foods Co., Ltd. was jointly established in Taipei in 1985 by Mr. Hayato Tanabe, president of Japan’s SUNMERRY Co., Ltd., and Mr. Liao De-xiu. The first store, named “Saint-Merry,” sits at the intersection of Xinyi Road and Yongkang Street and has long been a landmark of Yongkang Street. Its innovative products and Japanese-style service injected a fresh perspective into Taiwan’s baking market. The logo uses the basic shape of bread as its element; overlapping forms convey Saint-Merry’s dedication to baking and to the public, while the star on top symbolizes the crowning of achievement, representing Saint-Merry’s professional success. “With Saint-Merry’s heart, we touch a wonderful feast of flavor” signifies Saint-Merry touching everyone’s heart with the finest taste. In 2017, as Taiwan’s baking market gained international recognition and Saint-Merry continued to excel in competitions, the overseas division opened several stores in the United States, bringing the taste of home to overseas communities.
