Ishiki Bay, located in Fengbin Township and approximately 40 kilometers from Hualien City, is encircled by mountains with the southern end marked by Dasin Mountain, an imposing 100-meter-high hill that creates a picturesque landscape. Ishiki Beach features a 2.5-kilometer-long stretch of soft, smooth sand, its color transforming from a grayish-black when submerged in winter tides to a golden hue in summer when sunlight strikes the exposed shoreline under receding tides—a prime location for water-based recreational activities. The area has now been developed into a coastal recreational zone, complete with a swimming beach, paragliding takeoff field, wooden camping area, and restaurants, making it an ideal summer destination for coastal play and aquatic activities. To the west of Ishiki Bay lies Ishiki Village, home to a settlement of the coastal Amis people. Along the southern shore remain tidal flats accessible by fishing communities' wooden outriggers, where fishermen often bring anglers to offshore pinnacles for casting. Additionally, some employ rod fishing to catch sea breams or engage in night fishing for threadfin breams. At the southern tip of Ishiki Bay, the Dasin Mountain Trail spans 910 meters, almost entirely paved with wooden walkways. Visitors can ascend along the staircases and pathways to observe diverse plant and animal ecosystems, and enjoy panoramic views from the summit. Suitable for family outings, this natural ecological trail offers rich opportunities to explore coastal terrestrial and marine environments in harmony.
