Ajo's Water Rice Porridge is a dish created by Ajo's parents, using their youngest daughter's name "Ajo" as a way to express their longing for family ties, nostalgia for friendships, and continuation of emotions. It is also a new brand under the fourth-generation Jiao Mama's traditional rice cake snacks. The couple poured their life experiences into this bowl of warm water rice porridge, using various cooking techniques such as steaming, boiling, stir-frying, deep-frying, and stewing. The birth of Ajo's Water Rice Porridge brand originated from Jiao Mama's longing for her brother and Jiao Papa's nostalgia for their friend and bowl designer, Peng Xi Yan. In 2014 and 2015, Jiao Mama's older brother, who was also Jiao Papa's culinary mentor, and Peng Xi Yan, the designer of the Fun Bowl, passed away. The sudden loss of loved ones created a sense of emptiness. Jiao Papa connected his life experiences, family ties, and friendships, and poured his heart and soul into creating this traditional Taiwanese dish over the past decade. He used the bowl designed by Peng Xi Yan to serve the water rice porridge, not only preserving the century-old family tradition of making rice cakes but also paying tribute to Peng Xi Yan's Hakka spirit.
