(6) Introduction to the leisure agriculture area:
Located in Jiaoxi Township, Shichao Village, the "Shichao Leisure Agriculture Area" covers an area of nearly 300 hectares. The area has rich agricultural and fisheries resources, including 138 hectares of farmland, 101 hectares of fish ponds, 6 hectares of grasslands, and 5 hectares of abandoned fish ponds. The terrain is low-lying, with many rivers and canals, and the large and small rivers all have sluice gates, which are the characteristics of this area.
The area has not been cemented along the coast, and the original natural ecology and vegetation are intact. It is located in the tidal river section where the saltwater and freshwater meet, and there are more than 20 species of fish, shrimp, and shellfish. Many waterbirds also inhabit and winter in the area, making it an ideal place for bird watching. A total of 178 species have been recorded, including rare species such as the black-faced spoonbill, white stork, white-necked stork, and white-headed goose.
The Shichao Leisure Agriculture Area is also an ideal place to observe aquatic ecological resources, where visitors can engage in activities such as fishing, boating, and catching fish. In addition, to promote leisure agriculture experiential tourism and create opportunities for everyone to get close to nature, the Shichao Leisure Agriculture Area has launched the "Genius Little Angler" children's agricultural and fisheries village experience activity since the summer of 2007, which is a big step forward for the development of leisure agriculture.

Geographic Environment
The Shichao Leisure Agriculture Area has been an important transportation hub since the Qing dynasty, with many rivers flowing from the north and south. The ancient Er-long River, also known as the "Qiwulan River", flows through the area, forming the "Aobaizi" wetland in the north and the "Wangtongyan" wetland in the northeast. The southern part is adjacent to Dapi and Zhuangwei Township.
The eastern part of the area is separated from the Toucheng River (Thirteen Stocks Ditch) and faces the Toucheng Township's Zhuan'an. The northern part is bounded by the Shagang Drainage Line and the Toucheng Township's Zhonglun. The entire area is like a basin, with water accumulated and not draining, hence the name "Dadian" (big basin). After the war, the residents named the area "Shichao Village" because of the tide's ebb and flow, with the saying "one day, two tides".
Ecological Environment
The area has a unique wetland environment, attracting many species of birds to forage and inhabit. Most of the bird species are active in the Zhuan'an River mouth and the natural wetlands of the Dadian area. In the past, the rice fields were cultivated twice a year, and the aquaculture industry was thriving, which attracted many birds. However, since the 1990s, the rice fields have been abandoned, and the aquaculture industry has declined due to diseases, causing the bird species to migrate to the Dadian area. The black-faced spoonbill is also a common visitor, and a total of 39 families and 178 species of birds have been recorded.
In addition, there are 21 species of fish, 3 species of shrimp, and more than 4 species of crabs in the area, with the mud crab being the most representative. The area's water quality is suitable for crab growth, and the natural environment of "one day, two tides" provides the best biological annotation.
As for the plant ecology, the "Mukunage" (water caltrop) is the most valuable, with 69 strains recorded. There are also many other plants with wetland indicator functions, such as the winged stem chrysanthemum, long-bracted fragrant sedge, and water bamboo, which are scattered throughout the area, adding to the rich biodiversity.
