The original site of the Air Force 11th Village was known as Lake Side Restaurant during the Japanese colonial era. It was an upscale social venue where the Japanese would entertain high-ranking officials and wealthy merchants. Only influential Japanese and Taiwanese wealthy individuals could afford to dine there. Later, it was converted into a military dependents' village, which was renamed Air Force 11th Village. After the village was rebuilt, the area has become a popular recreational and tourist spot, featuring a beautiful Japanese garden. Nearby attractions include the Hsinchu City Glass Art Museum, the Municipal Zoo, and the Lily Pond Park.
