Peng Peng Bay is located in Baisha Township of Penghu. As its cute name suggests, the beach is not large; a ten‑minute walk will take you across it. This is because Peng Peng Beach is still a young sandbar that is slowly growing.
The beach is very beautiful, with sparkling white sand, luminous blue clear water, and the sunshine that makes the sand even more dazzling. The most special feature of Peng Peng Bay is that its beach winds through the middle of the sea, rather than forming a single stretch of sand. From the air, the shape looks like a large white dragon swimming in the sea, so Peng Peng Bay is also called the “Living Dragon Island.”
In fact, Peng Peng Bay is an uninhabited island, so there are few ways to get there. You must take a boat from the North Sea Tourist Service Center, which takes about half an hour to forty minutes. On the way, you can enjoy the beautiful sea scenery, listen to the sound of waves, feel the wind and the thrill of breaking waves—worth every penny!
The sand at Peng Peng Beach is similar to that of other Penghu islands, mainly composed of coral fragments. Peng Peng Bay is also home to many gulls and other bird species, making it a bird paradise.
An interesting fact is that there is currently no pier at Peng Peng Bay. When a boat pulls in, visitors can try the unique experience of “running on the beach” and feel the thrill of this rare experience!
**Suggested stay time:** 0.5 hours, usually just a cruise pass by.
