Zuoying is blessed with beautiful natural scenery, including Banshing Hill, a peculiar hill composed of coral reef limestone geology rich in coastal marine biological fossils. The entrance is divided into eastern and western sides. On the western side, a prominent gate with the sign "Banshing Hill Hiking Trail" marks the entry to the area, which is equipped with trails, pavilions, and other facilities for rest. The site has been famous since the Qing Dynasty and is renowned alongside Lotus Pond (Lianchi Tan) as one of the most well-known attractions in Kaohsiung, ideal for mountain climbing, hiking, and ecological observation. The eastern side was originally a cement mine but has since ceased operations, now focusing on remedial soil and water conservation efforts and ongoing maintenance. The name and appearance of Banshing Hill were formed due to excessive historical mining. Since mining operations ceased on July 10, 1998, over 20,000 woody plants, covering approximately 340 species, have been planted.
