The Datong Wetland Park (formerly known as Chungcheng Park) was established in 1981 and is located directly opposite the Datong Cultural and Art Center. After years of green enhancement efforts, the park is now lush with trees and features facilities including a Senior Citizens' Center, rest pavilions, the nearby Father Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (demolished around October 2012), and the Tsien'en Library. It has become an ideal place for leisure. The Chaotou Embankment: During the Qing Dynasty, there were two locations in Fengshan County with the name "Chaotou" ("Pu Zih Tou" in the area of the old Yucheng Fort and "Pu Tou" in the location of the new Fengshan city). To avoid confusion in place names, the "Pu Tou" in Fengshan City was later renamed "Hsia Pu Tou," "Hsia Pu Tou Street," or "Pu Tou Street." The name "Pu Tou" in Fengshan City originated from the settlement built adjacent to an embankment, with the term referring to the head of the embankment. This embankment was the "Chaotou Embankment." The Fengshan Chaotou Embankment was approximately five li (2.5 kilometers) in circumference and measured 34.5 hectares (approximately 33.3 acres) in area, making it a large embankment. It was located on the southern side of Wu Luo Tang Mountain and fed westward into Fengshan Creek and two ditches (the inner and outer moats of the Fengshan County City). Wu Luo Tang Mountain corresponds to the present-day low-lying terrain on the north side of the Beimen Li livestock market in Fengshan City, near the line of the Taoyuan-Pingtung Railway, west of Fengshan Creek and north of Bao Ai Road. The "Shou Hun Bei" (Monument of Animal Souls) erected at the intersection of Jing Wu Road and Feng Ren Road is a notable landmark in this area. Areas such as the Senior Center located west of Fengshan Creek, Fengshan Hospital, Fengshan District Office, Chien-Shu Memorial Hall (demolished around October 2012), Datong Hospital, Datong Elementary School, Datong Park, Ting Shan Tian Xia Towers to the east of Fengshan Creek, and Rui Zhu Community Activity Center all fall within the original territory of the Chaotou Embankment.
