The area with the strongest Korean influence in Taiwan is located on Zhongxing Street in Yonghe, which is nicknamed "Korean Street" or "Little Korea." The street is lined with Korean goods, and its original name has been overshadowed by the Korean style. The street signs, designed by Fuxing Art and commissioned by the district office, are brightly colored and uniquely shaped, featuring the vibrant green, pink, yellow, and blue hues that symbolize the Korean people's resilience and spirit. The Korean business district in Yonghe dates back to the 1950s, when Korean immigrants from Shandong Province arrived in Taiwan and settled in Yonghe. At that time, Korean culture was not yet popular in Taiwan, and these immigrants introduced various Korean goods to the island, making this area the primary sales district for imported Korean products. The business district features Korean language signs, a Korean children's play area, and regular events such as hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) experiences and kimchi-making workshops, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in Korean culture. For K-pop and Korean culture enthusiasts, Korean Street stretches for hundreds of meters, lined with stores selling a wide variety of imported Korean goods, including instant noodles, seaweed, kimchi, ginseng, snacks, chili paste, clothing, silk bedding, Korean cookware, electric blankets, and more. Visitors can also try traditional Korean-Chinese dishes, such as Korean-style jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and stir-fried glass noodles, and Shandong-style roasted chicken at local eateries like Yijudong Liu Jia Water Dumplings.
