Along the Nan'ao Highway, people hurriedly passing through may notice the striking yellow-painted overpass near Da Wu's downtown area when nearby. While heading south, they can also observe the façades of houses painted in various colors in a radial pattern. This is Da Wu Rainbow Street, one of the neighborhoods sponsored by a renowned international paint brand for community murals. Walking into Da Wu Street along the Nan'ao Highway, viewers are immediately drawn to the vibrant entrance marked by the walls of buildings adorned with a mix of colorful hues. Approximately 20 to 30 households in Da Wu Street have participated in this project, instantly revitalizing the once monotonous community with bold color combinations, creating a passionate and vibrant atmosphere.
On Da Wu Street, there is also a row of residential buildings modeled after European-style wooden cottages. This represents the permanent housing for the Fushan tribal residents who were forcibly relocated after the 88 Wind Disaster. The Fushan tribal community was originally the second-largest Puyuma tribe in Da Wu. Due to the 88 Wind Disaster, which caused landslides upstream and destroyed their original village site, the nearly 40 households currently reside there. Besides the eye-catching exterior, most residential entries and front courtyards display numerous indigenous tribal totems, complementing the rainbow street's vivid colors and creating a highly distinctive character.
