National Dong Hwa University is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. In recent years, it merged with Hualien National University of Education and established the Mei Lun Campus at National Dong Hwa University. If Donghai University embodies ancient eastern charm, National Dong Hwa University displays an elegant European style. European-style architecture and the vast campus environment create a watercolor-like picture centered in the Hua-Tung Longitudinal Valley, giving students a sense of stepping into a European town as they enter the campus. The campus is ecologically rich—rarely can rabbits be seen running through the campus as in years past, but small animals can occasionally be spotted wandering around if one looks closely.
