Six decades of persistence: preserving Taiwan’s last handmade feather duster. Once common in households, the feather duster is now rarely seen, yet in a traditional three-section compound in Puyan Township owner Chen Zhong-lu still keeps the craft alive. His workshop has become an off-beat leisure stop: weekday outdoor classes for school groups, weekend visitors from across the island, a quiet rural hamlet revitalized by a single feather duster. Many parents worry that hours on computers and phones erode their children’s concentration; here, building a duster side-by-side not only brings parents and kids closer but also trains youngsters to focus on finishing a task, boosting pride and satisfaction and greatly stabilizing their approach to learning.
