Beihamin Park is located at the northern end of Huilanda Bay, adjacent to the vast Pacific Ocean. It is a favorite spot for Hualien residents to enjoy scenic walks in the early mornings, relax during the evenings, or engage in leisure activities on weekends. The park features beach volleyball courts, extreme sports zones, and skateboarding areas, attracting many young people who love to work out and compete here every holiday. Along the seaside stands a row of wooden pavilions where the elderly often gather to gaze at the ocean or where friends of all ages can picnic and chat. For children, the interactive water play zones are an irresistible attraction; on summer evenings, they can play with sand at the beach volleyball area and then enjoy a refreshing water splash in the play zones.
The park's harborfront bikeway stretches 15 kilometers northward along the coastline, ending at Qixingtan. Cyclists can enjoy the beautiful landscapes of mountains and seas that Hualien has to offer, making it a favorite among cycling enthusiasts. Those wishing for further challenge can extend their biking route southward to Liyutan, where the total riding distance amounts to 35.3 kilometers.
On weekends and holidays, the skies of Beihamin Park are vibrant with kites being flown by children and remote-controlled planes operated by adults, often drawing the attention of many other visitors. The sea is equally lively, dotted with sails of small wind-powered boats gliding freely through the water. At dawn around four or five in the morning, local Hualien residents head to the park for morning exercises, whereas some early-bird travelers specifically visit to greet the first sunrise in Taiwan. In the evening, it provides spectators a serene experience watching the moon rise from the horizon. Different times of the day share the same breathtaking beauty and heartwarming emotions.
