The Dasyueshan Leisure Agricultural Zone includes the Zhongkeng Village in Heping District, Taichung City, and the Longxing and Fulong Villages in Dongshi District, located on the western edge of Heping District and the eastern edge of Dongshi District. The zone was established with natural boundaries, following natural terrain such as rivers and roads, and covers an area of 535.0186 hectares. The area is rich in agricultural and environmental resources, including agricultural production, leisure agriculture, historical culture, and ecological environment.
The zone is planned around the concept of "going up the mountain to gather fun, healthy heart green land" and follows the development principles of natural production, healthy living, and environmental conservation. The products are planned based on a six-level industrialization mindset and are divided into five aspects: food, accommodation, tourism, play, and shopping, to establish a romantic Hakka farm with slow food, slow travel, and slow living.
Tourist attractions include:
* Dongshi Forest Culture Park: Every summer, the 5-hectare ecological wood storage pool in the park is filled with blooming lotus flowers, making it one of the best places to appreciate lotus flowers in central Taiwan.
* Shenlong Glutinous Rice Bridge: Located in the old Dongshi High School, Fulong Village, the bridge was built using glutinous rice to increase the adhesion between the stones.
* Fulong Village Stone Angle Creek Trail: The trail is a 1.5 km long riverbank road that runs along the Stone Angle Creek, where visitors can see the scenery of the river and a variety of birds and fish.
* Pingpu Glutinous Rice Bridge: Located in Pingpu, Longxing Village, the bridge was also built using glutinous rice to increase the adhesion between the stones.
* Firefly Zone: The zone has preserved a variety of firefly species and offers night-time ecological observations, where visitors can search for fireflies in the forest.
* Mengzhong Bamboo Forest: Located on the Dongkeng Road, the forest is home to a variety of bamboo species and offers a chance to experience the beauty of nature.
* Yungyun Mountain Nursery: The nursery cultivates tree seedlings for afforestation and greening, with over 30 species of trees, and provides a chance to learn about the importance of afforestation.
* Dasyueshan Suspension Bridge: The bridge spans over 100 meters and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape.
* Cloud Sea/Night View: The area offers a stunning view of the cloud sea and the night sky, with a 270-degree view of the surrounding landscape.

* January-February: Mountain cherry blossoms and birds such as the crowned pigeon and green eye
* March-May: Forest flowers such as the Taiwan cherry and azalea
* April-July: Butterfly and bird watching, stargazing
* May-July: The oak forest shows different plant communities, including the long-tailed oak and the Taiwanese mountain birch
* November-January: Maple leaves and cloud sea season, with the best time to appreciate the cloud sea in autumn
Transportation:
* Self-driving: Take National Highway 3 or National Highway 1 and exit at the Fengyuan Interchange, then take the Taiwan Highway 3 towards Dongshi, and then take the Taiwan Highway 8 towards Guguan.
* Public transportation: Take the Taiwan Railway to Fengyuan Station or Taichung Station, and then transfer to the bus to Dongshi Station. On holidays, take the bus to Dasyueshan Forest Recreation Area.
* Taiwan Good Travel 889 Dasyueshan Line: From Fengyuan Transfer Center, passing through Dongshi and other attractions, and requiring advance booking.
