It was originally Checheng Elementary School. Due to the low birth rate, it was abandoned in 2015. Afterwards, the school building was left idle for many years and the existing visitor center had limited space. After discussions between the Railway Administration and the community, it was planned to revitalize the school building and set up a railway classroom and a new Checheng Visitor Center to expand tourism services. The spacious school playground is used as a tour bus turnaround space.
