Alaska Airlines is a major American airline operating in the United States. The carrier offers scheduled passenger flights from its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SeaTac). It operates a large network of destinations, both domestically and internationally.

The company was founded in 1932 by Linious "Leo" McCarty, Star McCoy, and George Pitzer as Alaska Steamship Company. In the following years, it changed its name to several times until finally settling on Alaska Airlines in 1944.
