During the Taisho period of Japanese rule, the Japanese set up credit unions in various places to manage the production and marketing of rice in Taiwan. After World War II, these were converted into agricultural cooperatives. Agriculture was once the mainstay of early people's livelihood and economy, and rice production was the main agricultural product of Shiung-kang. Therefore, the agricultural cooperative took on the important responsibility of processing, promoting and improving. The rice milling warehouse factory at that time was extremely important and was an indispensable part of the historical development of Shiung-kang District. The "Rice Milling Warehouse" of the Shiung-kang Agricultural Cooperative was built in 1942 (Showa 17) during the Japanese rule. It had the function of a rice mill and was a precise wooden structure. Subsequently, due to the gradual transformation of agriculture and the sharp decline in rice production, it inevitably went into history. After the 921 earthquake in 1999, it was damaged. After the former National Administration Council subsidized 7 million yuan, and the original Shiung-kang Township Office raised 7.55 million yuan, the township office undertook the restoration work, which continues to this day.
