Promoting the beauty of Guansi with Hulusi music The rose-red interior decoration, paired with pleasant music, creates a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere.
Huzacafé, an art studio owned by Chen Wenxian, was previously a music school. However, Chen found the traditional music school format to be too serious and rigid. He gradually transformed the space into a multifaceted venue, centered around musical exchange.
Chen Wenxian has been passionate about music since childhood. He started learning the flute in elementary school and entered the world of traditional Chinese music in college. With 30 years of musical experience, Chen currently teaches at a school and serves as the music director of the "Yuefu Orchestra". He is skilled in playing instruments such as the Erhu and Dizi.
Huzacafé primarily promotes the Hulusi, a musical instrument from minority ethnic groups in China's border regions. The Hulusi has a unique sound and beautiful appearance. The studio also offers services such as instrument painting and making. Moreover, it provides a space for music enthusiasts to perform freely, with a flexible charging policy.
Music is no longer taught in a rigid, traditional manner. Instead, it is shared and appreciated through interactive performances. Chen Wenxian says that returning to his hometown initially brought complex emotions. Due to limited job opportunities in rural areas, many young people choose to work elsewhere. However, this motivated Chen to give back to Guansi by sharing his musical expertise.
When visiting the art studio, you can see Chen Wenxian silently creating and cultivating music for Guansi, striving to compose a musical story that belongs to him and Guansi.
