The historic old building, built in 1931, features a clean brick and washed stone style. It once served as the police center for the Taixi area, holding significant historical importance and forming a shared memory for many residents in their sixties and seventies. After a concerted effort by historians and scholars to preserve it, the building was registered as a Yunlin County historic building in 2006 and underwent restoration completed in 2018.
