花蓮縣壽豐鄉鯉魚潭上游
The Loushuei and Bopao Creeks are both upstream of Liyutan in Shoufeng Township, Hualien. These streams are vital sources of water for Liyutan, with clear water cascading down from the Central Mountain Range throughout the year. Due to the lack of disturbance, the cool, refreshing waters attract many people who come to swim and enjoy themselves every summer, filling the valleys with laughter and creating a harmonious natural scene, a picturesque summer paradise hidden from many visitors. Strictly speaking, the Bopao Creek is part of the upstream region of the Loushuei Creek, and this area serves as the source of "Taiwan Jade" (known as "Fengtian Jade" locally). The riverbed contains various stones that shimmer in shades of green and purple, particularly the well-known Fengtian Jade and Serpentinite. Current visitors to this area can not only enjoy the river fully but also engage in treasure hunting within the riverbed, collecting their favorite rocks as keepsakes. The Bopao Creek Mountain bike trail is a charming 7.3-kilometer long path which seamlessly integrates activities such as cycling, hiking, mountain river exploration, ecological preservation, and cultural appreciation. As a contemporary form of minimalist lifestyle tourism, the route offers a distinctive and engaging way for people to enjoy nature. It is an essential must-visit for cycling enthusiasts.
