The harborfront freight railroad that had shouldered Kaohsiung's economic lifeline for nearly six decades has been rebuilt into the West Harbor Coastal Bike Path after being relieved of its duties. Starting in the north at Fisherman's Wharf, connecting to the Gushan Ferry Station, and stretching to the south towards the Haixuan Road Dream Time commercial district, the 6-kilometer bicycle path passes through key attractions such as the Banana Wharf, Railway Story Museum, AOT Arts District, True Love Wharf, the West Harbor Bridge spanning the river, and Glory Wharf. Linking the prime coastal scenery along the Kaohsiung Port with the urban green corridor, this route captures the grand harbor landscapes and the serene beauty of the Love River, offering cyclists the ideal way to experience the charm of the harbor city.
