"Longfeng Palace" A Journey of Beauty in Religion and Art! Longfeng Palace was officially built in 1836 (the 16th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign), and is dedicated to Mazu, the Goddess of the Sea. The temple is filled with incense and is known as the "Outer Mazu" in contrast to the "Inner Mazu" at the Cijui Temple in Zhonggang. With a rich history, Longfeng Palace can be said to be a treasure trove of wonders. The temple's most distinctive feature is the 136-foot-tall, 12-story-high magnificent Mazu statue. On clear days, you can see the vast expanse of the Taiwan Strait from the top of the statue, with breathtaking views. The temple's architecture is also adorned with vibrant and colorful glazed tile art, intricate and technically impressive coffered ceilings, ornate cornices, and exquisite stone carvings, showcasing the pinnacle of temple architecture. Longfeng Palace also houses a collection of ancient artifacts and relics over a century old, including a stone incense burner from the Qing Daoguang era, a bronze furnace from the Ming Xuande era, a melon-shaped medicine sign, and a ancient well called Longquan Well, which dates back to the same era as the temple. These treasures are well worth a leisurely appreciation.
