About a 20-minute drive from Caoling Image Commercial District, Shibi has become a popular hiking route in recent years. It serves as an intermediate stop on the Xitou–Caoling traverse; from the summit of Shibi Mountain, the highest point, you can gaze at distant, mist-wreathed ridges and, if you’re lucky, witness a dreamlike sea of clouds. Start with the farthest trailhead: walk a stretch of Mengzong bamboo path into the camphor forest to savor the secluded elegance of Shibi’s woodlands. Then visit the ancient Chinese-guger tree that miraculously survived a fire, or continue to Shibi Fairy Valley to watch the murmuring stream carve the rock into a spectacular gorge.
