This further closes the distance between Taiwan and Penghu, significantly shortening the travel time compared to the existing Magong-Bagua route by nearly 30 minutes. The waiting hall within the Penghu Longmen Jianshan Wharf Area, constructed as part of the Longmen Commercial Port, is a striking red container-style building with a futuristic industrial design. It was planned and designed by the Kaohsiung Fortress 2 Container Art Festival team. The visual concept of the containers emerging from the ground symbolizes the rebirth of Longmen Port, heralding a new era for this bidirectional voyage. The Longmen Jianshan Wharf Area benefits from a favorable geographical feature, where the two flanks are shielded by elevated terrains that protect against the northeast monsoon, making it an ideal harbor. Since 1997, it has been designated as a passenger terminal to accommodate fishing vessels and cargo ships. In April 2013, a one-way ferry route was launched from Jia Yi Bagua to Penghu Longmen. The Longmen Jianshan Wharf Area was subsequently opened as a combined passenger and cargo port, achieving satisfactory results in both passenger volume and freight turnover. By 2017, through collaborative efforts of central and local governments, the bi-directional Longmen-Bagua ferry route officially commenced operation. This new "blue highway" ferry route not only increased passenger traffic for tourism in Penghu but also boosted the development of related industries in the surrounding region. It effectively links popular tourist attractions on both Jia Yi Bagua and Penghu Longmen, such as the High Heel Chapel and the National Palace Museum Southern Branch in Jia Yi, as well as nearby Aimen Beach, Lintou Park, Longmen Underground Cavern, Longmen Sea Bay at Lijiangiao, Kaoye Sunrise, Nanliao Old Settlement, and the Qibei Mountain Moses-Split-Sea Scenic Spot in Penghu.
