The Nanshihkeng Creek is located on the western side of Dadu Mountain, and its water source comes from a natural spring in Shalu. Human activity traces date back 4,000 years, making this year-round reliable water resource extremely important. In the Taichung area, there is almost no natural rainfall during winter and spring. Residents of the Shalu district rely on the water from Nanshihkeng Creek for food, drinking, laundry, cleaning, irrigation, and other uses.
