The Chao-Feng Temple in Da Gangshan is located in Gangshan Village, A-Lian District, Kaohsiung City, atop Da Gangshan with vast, unobstructed views. From there, visitors can overlook the plain and urban scenery of A-Lian below the mountain. With a history of over 250 years since its construction in the 28th year of the Qing Qianlong era (1763 AD), the venerable Chao-Feng Temple, which mainly enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva, is one of the earliest origins of Buddhism in southern Taiwan. Currently listed as a second-class cultural heritage site, it holds great historical value. The temple encompasses a large area, including the Hall of the Three Western Saints, Guanyin Hall, the Gate of Supreme Enlightenment, Small Snow Field, and Tiger Banyan Tree. Outside the temple, there is the Compassionate Voyage Pond and the market street. Proceeding along the trail, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Da Gangshan. During the day, the view of Jiadings to the Taiwan Strait is visible; at dusk, the evening sunset can be admired; and at night, the city lights create a magnificent sight. This makes the Chao-Feng Temple an essential stop for visitors to Gangshan.
