Quanzhou's Fong San Temple (Fengshan Temple) is a county-designated historic site, primarily enshrining Guangze Zunwang. Its ancestral temple is located at Fengshan Temple in Nan'an County, Quanzhou Prefecture, a sanctuary established by Nan'an immigrants who respectfully brought its sacred fire for worship in Ludong Harbor (鹿港), after which the temple took its current name. The history of Fengshan Temple began in the second year of Daoguang reign in the Qing Dynasty (1822 AD) and witnessed an expansion in the tenth year of Daoguang. Initially built as an elongated structure, later, due to road widening, the central courtyard was removed and the Three-Bay Hall (Sanchuan Dian) was moved backward, creating its current appearance. Today, the junction traces on both sides of the Three-Bay Hall remain clearly visible for visitors to observe. The deity Guangze Zunwang, also recognized as Bao'an Zunwang, is venerated with various local titles, including Guo Shengwang, Guo Wanggong, and Shengwang of Guo Mansion. This deity is the most revered among Quanzhou people. The inscription of the central courtyard, authored by the Jinshi (juristic degree holder)廖春波 and the scholar Chen Huaicheng, holds significant literary value. The left wing room houses the site of the Beiguan theatrical group, now retaining only the plaque labeled "Yu Ru Yi" and also enshrines Wansheng Temple's Su Wang. The dragon-tiger walls on both sides of the Three-Bay Hall's front aisle and the word-and-picture walls on either side of the courtyard are constructed with clay-glazed pottery, exuding classical charm. The architecture of this temple is elegant yet rich in cultural relics—an unmissable destination for visitors.
