【Announcement】Masha Gorge Marine Leisure Sports Resort is currently closed for maintenance.
Located in the Jiangjun District, Masha Gorge was originally a traditional coastal fishing village. During the late afternoon, one could witness the breathtaking scenery of the setting sun casting a golden glow on the sea, with fishing boats dotting the horizon, earning it the reputation as one of Taiwan's eight scenic spots, "Green Shore Sail Shadow." Masha Gorge also boasts a fine sandy beach and crystal-clear waters. After planning and development in the 1980s, the area was equipped with numerous food stalls and a variety of water activities, attracting large crowds of tourists during the summer months, marking the peak of its popularity.
However, due to the aging infrastructure and facilities, Masha Gorge gradually fell into disrepair. In 2018, the National Scenic Area Administration of Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan (Yun Jia Nan) redeveloped the "Masha Gorge Marine Leisure Sports Resort," which began operations in June 2020. The renovated resort added swimming areas, jet-skiing, and other recreational facilities. With its rich offerings and unique coastal location, Masha Gorge quickly regained its former glory.
The revamped Masha Gorge not only features a wide range of leisure activities but also prioritizes safety and rescue planning. Lifeguards within the recreational area remain vigilant, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
